UPSCALE Project
Erasmus+ Co-founded by the European Union Employability Tracking

The UPSCALE Project is a progressive Erasmus+ initiative, co-funded by the European Union, designed to improve the employability of university graduates in Botswana and Eswatini. Its key focus is on implementing dual career pathways and establishing a system to track graduate employability. Officially launched in December 2024, the project brings together five African universities and four leading European institutions in a collaborative partnership.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

Four objectives driving transformation

UPSCALE focuses on policy, institutional capacity, dual higher education and structured graduate employability monitoring.

Promote dual education and employability monitoring

To produce dual education and monitoring the higher education (HE) graduates' employabilityand build-up national consensus betweenthe key stakeholders involved in Botswana & Eswatini (hereafter Partner Countries-PCs);

Strengthen the policy and normative framework

To enrich and advance the legislative and normative framework on HE dual education & graduates' employability at the national and institutional levels in PCs;

Develop and pilot Dual Career paths

To develop and pilot Dual Career paths by each PCs' HEIs;

Build career guidance and tracking capacity

To Strengthen the capacity of PCs' HEIs staff to develop and release graduates' employability tracking, to deliver efficient career guidance services and promotethe professional insertion of students and graduates in the labour market;
